Jutta Maria Taube, aged 65, died peacefully on August 3, 2017 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio, after a battle with cancer. Jutta was born October 15, 1951, in Stutgart, Germany, the daughter of Gottfried and Isolde Katz.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Walter R. Taube Jr.; her daughter Amanda M. Taube; grandchildren, Caitlin and Connor Boyle; brothers, Rainer and Kevin Katz; and a number of relatives and close friends.
Jutta and her family came to the United States in 1958, and she grew up in the Toledo, Ohio area, graduating from Start High School in 1970. She began a career as a dental technician, but then devoted herself to raising her daughter and volunteering her time at Springfield Local schools as a reading tutor. She went on to serve as a member and then president of the Springfield Board of Education from 1988 to 1993. Jutta then returned to earn a degree in Accounting and had a successful career in Treasury Management.
Above all else, Jutta enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren. She loved to garden, and was a fabulous cook – she thoroughly enjoyed serving her friends and family delectable meals, which they will all miss greatly.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to make a donation to your local Hospice, as they are inordinately grateful to the compassionate and kind Hospice family that helped Jutta's last days be comfortable and peaceful.
