In Memory

Marc Rohloff

Marc D. Rohloff, 60, of Perrysburg, Ohio, left this life unexpectedly to continue the second part of his journey. He was a loving husband and a wonderful friend. Marc was born on June 21, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Robert and Priscilla (Ziegler) Rohloff. He graduated from Start High School (where he was dubbed by fellow students as "the guy most likely to make a living creating comic strips"). Marc completed his degree in communications from Toledo University. He worked for General Telephone, which turned into GTE, which turned into Verizon and retired after 37 years.

Marc met that "Brown-eyed girl" in 1979 and after a much aspired and lengthy courtship married Anna Maria Kennedy on August 27, 1988. Sporting an outlandish sense of humor and a pronounced ability to play exceptional golf (bear in mind he was the one counting strokes), Marc also enjoyed whitewater rafting, table billiards and bowling. Marc was an exceptional singer and performed as a member of the Toledo Symphony Chorale Ensemble, as a tenor.

Marc was a Past Master of the Robinson-Locke Masonic Lodge. He loved sports and in particular followed the progress of the Detroit Tigers and the Red Wings. Marc was a very gregarious soul with an uncanny ability to make others feel at ease.

He is survived by his wife of twenty four years, Anna; as well as many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

In Marc's honor a simple farewell gathering and memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St. Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) with time of service at 5:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Toledo Humane Society. Condolences to the family may be made by visiting
